Lambeth and Southwark Mind are seeking committed individuals with an interest in mental health to join our Board of Trustees.
Do you share our passion for providing access to high quality and innovative mental health services in local communities? Trustees are responsible for the overall governance and strategic direction of the charity, developing our aims, objectives and goals by our governing document, legal and regulatory guidelines.
You will have a strong personal commitment to the charity’s vision and values. Whether you’re an experienced Trustee or taking your first step as a Trustee, we’d love to hear from you. Being a Trustee will allow you to use your specialist skills and commitment to help shape the future of our charity and to improve the lives of vulnerable people.
As a Trustee, you will:
– Have an opportunity to improve the mental health and well-being of our local communities
– Contribute to the governance of our vital local charity
– Receive induction, support and training
– Have an opportunity to use and develop your skills
We serve a diverse part of London and we would particularly welcome applications from people who are representative of the communities we serve. We would particularly welcome applications from individuals with a diversity of experience and perspectives, including age, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, and socio-economic and cultural background.
You may have experience of using mental health services, either currently or in the past, or have close experience of living with the effect of mental ill-health or mental health issues.
The expected time commitment is approximately 4-6 hours per month, to include taking part in Trustee Board meetings, being a member of a sub-committee, and being involved in occasional projects.
The Board of Trustees are currently meeting virtually by videoconference monthly in response to the coronavirus crisis; usually, Board meetings are held once every two months at our offices in Brixton.
