YoungMinds

Overview

Young Minds is a leading national charity fighting for children and young people’s mental health.

They are fighting for a future where all young minds are supported and empowered, whatever the challenges. They say they are here to make sure they get the best possible mental health support and have the resilience to overcome life’s difficulties.
The crisis in children and young people’s mental health is real and urgent. More children and young people than ever before are reaching out for help with their mental health. But for those who take that brave step, help is much too hard to find.

They have 4 key strategic aims:

  1. Foster innovation to meet the needs of vulnerable and excluded children and young people.
  2. Promote good mental health to more children and young people than ever before.
  3. Champion the voices of young people and parents to influence mental health policy and practice.
  4. Inspire excellence to achieve transformed, integrated services.

There is a section on the website about finding help, also details about different mental health conditions plus feelings and symptoms.

YoungMinds does not offer advice to young people but there is a helpline service is for parents or carers worried about a child or young person.
