Walworth Garden

Overview

Walworth Garden is a local Charity and Social Enterprise.  They provide environmental education, training in horticulture, garden maintenance services, workshops and courses including beekeeping.
Mission Statement.  “To change lives by delivering excellent learning and horticulture therapy in an award winning garden that’s open to all.”
You can support the local community by using the gardening services team. Income generated by the Social Enterprise Services subsidises their charitable activities.
See the projects page on the website for updates on their free courses and workshops including:
Greenfingers, which provides Horticultural Therapy for people with learning disabilities, basic skills and mental health issues.  Referral required eg. from CMHT or Social Services.
Horticultural Training Free training in Horticulture.  Gain a City & Guilds QCF level 2 qualification in Work Based Horticulture with practical work experience for people aged 16 to 30 years.  No experience required.  There are new courses starting in January 2019 and April 2019.
Introduction for Gardening – Free (subject to terms and conditions) 10-hour (2 day) horticulture courses for beginners aged over 19.
Introduction to Beekeeping and other sessions – Free to Southwark residents (reasonable fee for non residents) 10-hour (2 day) course for those over 19.  They offer courses on Biodiversity in the Garden, Basket Making for Beekeeping and more.
