Traumatic Stress Service – Maudsley Hospital

Overview

At the Traumatic Stress Service (TSS) they provide assessment and treatment for people, aged 18-65, throughout the United Kingdom. They are based at the Maudsley Hospital.  They aim to reduce the level of distress experienced by people who suffer psychological difficulties following a traumatic experience, often known as Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

The TSS also offers treatment to asylum seekers and refugees affected by war, torture and rape. Patients who do not speak English will be given help with language difficulties.
They work with a number of different therapy teams who specialise in PTSD.
Referrals to this service usually come through a person’s community mental health team (CMHT).
