The Loss Foundation

Overview

The Loss Foundation is the only UK charity dedicated solely to providing bereavement support following the loss of a loved one to cancer, whether that be spouses, family members, friends or colleagues.
They provide a variety of support events to help people at any point during their loss, and create the opportunity for them to meet others who have experienced something similar.  They also educate and empower others to support those who are grieving via our workshops and training.

They support you through your bereavement. To give you a space to grieve, to help you connect with others who have experienced something similar, and to assist you in getting the information and help that you need when you need it.
Support groups
They provide free support groups in London for people who have lost their loved ones to cancer. The groups, which are run by psychologists and other professionals, create regular spaces for people to share stories and experiences with others who have experienced a similar kind of loss.  You can attend these groups as and when you need to without signing up or confirming attendance.

Therapy groupsThey offer a 10-week programme of grief support to help support people who have lost a loved one to cancer. Their Clinical Psychologists who share what they know about grief and all that can arise out of it, will help you approach difficult thoughts and feelings, and will offer some guidance to help you cope with loss. The groups also offer a way to build connections and friendships with others who have experienced something similar.

Student groups in Oxford
The Loss Foundation works in collaboration with a student mental health charity, Student Minds, to run a twice-term support group for students based in the city of Oxford. Using their model of bereavement support they are able to provide a space for students who are studying whilst experiencing grief.
