Psychosis Service (SLaM)

Overview

Psychosis is the largest CAG within SLaM, with 74 teams and 1200 staff supporting more than 7000 service users per year across the boroughs of Lambeth, Southwark, Lewisham and Croydon.

The Psychosis CAG provides early intervention services, acute inpatient services, community services promoting recovery, and a range of rehabilitation services as well as two national specialist services.

By running services across the four boroughs, the service benefits from the ability to benchmark and identify variation and thereby implement large scale transformation.

Psychosis CAG has a world class reputation in research, especially in the areas of early intervention, psychological therapies and treatment resistant psychosis.

The main strategy, the Adult Mental Health Programme, which aims to focus work in the community on recovery, prevention and earlier and more effective intervention, will lead to translation of research at scale and is supported by a psychosis specific training programme.
