Scope

Overview

Scope exists to make  the UK a place where disabled people have the same opportunities as everyone else.  They provide support, information and advice to more than a quarter of a million disabled people and their families every year. They raise awareness of the issues and work to make changes in society.

Advice and information.  Scope provides free and confidential information, advice and support for disabled people, their families, carers and professionals – online, on the phone and in person.  They also link to independent disability advice services in your area such as the Disability Advice Service Lambeth.
Employment.  They support disabled people to find jobs, work experience and volunteering opportunities that will develop their careers and deliver results for employers.
Parent befriending.  Parent volunteers offer emotional one-to-one support to new parents of disabled children.
Sleep solutions.  They provide practical advice to parents and carers of disabled children who have difficulties sleeping.
School workshops. They are working with secondary schools to help them create inclusive learning environments and start conversations about disability.
Independent support.  They provide free advice and support for parents of children and young people with Special Educational Needs, through the statutory assessment and Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) processes.
Community engagement. They offer disabled people, their families and unpaid carers the time and space to think about what issues matter to them in their own local community, and the opportunity to take action on them together.
The future for regulated and day services. They have transferred their regulated and day services to another credible provider who will invest in them and ensure continuity of care for everyone in the future.
