Relatives & Residents Association
Overview
The Relatives & Residents Association is the national charity for older people in care or needing care and the relatives and friends who help them cope.
They support and inform residents, families and friends to find out all they need to know about care and to help them if things go wrong.
They speak out on behalf of a sector who cannot always speak out for themselves.Their knowledge and experience of the care system means that when they do speak out their voice is listened to.
Relatives often need a listening ear to cope with feelings of guilt about their inability to carry on caring. Many do not know where to get help in choosing or arranging care, whether at home or in a care home, or understanding the complicated rules about paying for care. Others may need support in adjusting to being in or needing care, or complaining about the quality of care they or their relative or friend is receiving. The Association’s Helpline is here to help you with all these problems.
