Ramblers

Overview

National organisation working to promote walking and improve conditions for walkers. Safeguards Britain’s network of public pathways and the right to roam, and campaigns for increased access for walkers.
Information on pathways and guided walks available. Can put you in touch with Ramblers’ groups across the country. Join a walk – we run hundreds of walks each week – from short urban strolls to long walks in the countryside.  You’re welcome to try out any of our walks for free. Once you’ve experienced the views, fun and exhilaration it’s just a case of becoming a member.  Members (must be over 18) receive a guidebook, quarterly magazine, etc.
Whether you’re walking to improve your health or simply for the pleasure of exploring your local area on foot, our walks make enjoying the great outdoors easy.   See more on the website.
Local groups include several in Inner London eg London Strollers and South Bank.
