Personal Support Unit PSU

Overview

The PSU is a charity for people facing court alone.  Many thousands of people find they must represent themselves in court during life-changing situations: divorce, contact with their children, eviction, and trying to recover debts. The PSU helps people to represent themselves more effectively in civil and family cases and tribunals. Their free, instant-access service is provided by trained volunteers based in court buildings.  They can support people going to a social security tribunal such as for ESA and PIP appeals.
Subject to availability they try to provide a volunteer to come with you to a hearing at a court or tribunal in London.
To book a PSU volunteer to go with you to your hearing, please call 020 7947 7701 or email [email protected]
It is best to get in touch with us at least two weeks before your hearing. The PSU service depends on volunteer availability so the more notice you can give us the more likely we are to be able to help.
The London Office is at the Royal Courts of Justice.  They also have offices at the Central London County Court, Central Family Court, West London Family Court and Wandsworth County Court.
