Older Adults – Service User & Carer Advisory Group (SUCAG)
Overview
This is an ‘umbrella’ group which enables service users, relatives and carers (past and present) to discuss views and feedback to inform the development and delivery of our Older Adult Services.
New members of the group receive the SUCAG Guide, which describes how they work.
Training is available to members and the group is tasked with specific areas to gather and report on the views and feedback from service users and carers, including looking at how care is provided and the recruitment and selection of staff.
Granville Park Drop-In
Once a month older SLaM service users can visit Granville Park drop-in café to meet, socialise, and swap stories and experiences with each other over tea and coffee. Sometimes community groups come along and give advice about local positive ageing events.
SUCAG members both support and attend these coffee afternoons as it is a great way to meet new people and catch up with old friends.
Refreshments are provided as well as transport if needed. If service users wish their carers to attend with them, they are welcome.
For details contact Isabel Porcel-Rojas on 07885 245 613.
