No panic offers advice, support, recovery programs and help for people living with phobias, OCD and any other anxiety-based disorders. National Organisation for Panic, Anxiety Neuroses, Information and Care. They provide information and advice for the carers of and people with Panic, Anxiety, Phobias, Obsessive Compulsive Disorders and the effects of Tranquiliser withdrawal. They can provide treatment and support over the telephone so that all sufferers can be helped. They advise that you use their information and advice in tandem with the support from your local GP.
Their Services Include:
- A confidential helpline that is staffed by trained volunteers on 0300 772 9844 and is available from 10 am to 10 pm every day of the year. After 10 pm this number plays a Breathing and Relaxation Technique recording.
- Crisis Number Recording of the Breathing Technique 24/7 01952 680835
- For members who wish to make pen pals, No Panic provides a “Contact Book” service.
- Provides simple, easy-to-follow step-by-step written recovery programmes and guides for phobias and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder.
- Advice and support for people trying to come off tranquillizers are available.
- Information to raise public and professional awareness of the issues created by anxiety disorders.
- Self-help cognitive behaviour therapy as a basis for recovery.
- For members, Recovery Groups teaching self-help – Anxiety Management, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (on the telephone)
- Resources available on anxiety disorders
- Information and support are available for the families and carers of sufferers.
- Coffee Mornings and Social Evenings for members to get to know one another on the telephone
- Free Information Pack on request. (Can be downloaded on the Website).
The Youth Helpline is for young people aged 13 to 20 years.
