Overview
The NHS Health Check is a free health check-up helping you prevent the onset of diabetes, heart disease, kidney disease, stroke and certain types of dementia.
If you are aged 40 to 74 years old, without a pre-existing condition, you are eligible for a free health check every five years.
If you haven’t received an invitation letter, contact your local GP. You can also have a health check at certain pharmacies.
Living a healthy lifestyle can lower your chances of developing a long-term health condition, eg maintaining a healthy weight, eating healthily, being active, and stop smoking.
