Moving Pieces Theatre

Overview

Moving Pieces is a unique arts-in-health theatre company based in London. They combine performing arts with the containment of psycho-therapeutic practices and emergent ideas relating to neuroscience.  They provide courses for people experiencing mental health challenges; performers actively looking to devise theatre performances based on personal experiences; mental health professionals and those interested in drama therapy, physical theatre, applied theatre and art therapy.

They perform regularly at fringe festivals, community hubs and small theatres around the country. They are also interested in collaborating with other physical theatre companies, artists, applied theatre practitioners and educators who are also interested in the process of creating original theatre performances based on personal narratives.

The Moving Pieces approach embraces the relationship between the arts and science, particularly body-based approaches emerging from neuroscience, which support mindfulness and self-regulation.

They are a small London theatre group which organises courses and workshops for people who have experienced trauma and also for healthcare professionals.  They are based near London Bridge and do most of their work in Southwark.
