Missing People – Message Home Helpline

Overview

Missing People is dedicated to bringing missing children and adults back together with their families.  For their families, life can feel like a desperate and unbearable struggle as they wait for days or even years. That’s why they are working for missing people and their families, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to provide free and confidential support by phone, text or email.

If you’re missing and want to talk about your situation:

  • Call: Freefone 116 000

This service offers a free, confidential helpline and you can send a message home.  This helpline is here to explore your options and get you the support you need to stay safe.

They listen in confidence, and support missing people and their families to explore their options and, where possible, to reconnect. For those left behind they provide specialised support to ease the heartache and confusion, and help search for their missing loved ones.

Contact the service and provide them with information that will help prove your identity to the person they are passing the message on to, such as your date of birth or any memorable information. They will then get in touch with your family and ask if they are willing to receive a message from you.  They will also be given the opportunity to pass a message back to you and the service will check with you first to make sure you are willing to receive the message.

Missing People provides support for missing children, vulnerable adults and families left in limbo. They offer families of the missing specialist advice and practical support as well as searching or securing publicity.
