Child Looked After Mental Health Service (Lambeth)
Overview
Children Looked After Mental Health Service (CLAMHS) is a multidisciplinary team that works with children and young people who are looked after by Lambeth Social Services and are between the ages of 0-18 years.
They offer:-
1. Care Planning Service (CPS) As children and young people enter the care of Lambeth Social Services, they are eligible to receive a fast track assessment to consider their mental health needs and care planning. Referrals need to be made within one month of the child entering care.
2. Ongoing Care Service (OCS)
This service is available to children and young people looked after by Lambeth Social Services and living in Lambeth, where the young person, their carer, or social worker feel extra support would be helpful.
3. Children placed out-of-borough. If you have concerns about a child who is placed outside Lambeth and have difficulty accessing their local mental health services please contact them for advice.
CLAMHS is part of Lambeth CAMHS.
They work with a very diverse population that are often the most vulnerable children and young people, who have experienced trauma including sexual, emotional and physical abuse as well as complex mental health needs.
Their aim is to provide stability for the children, and young people that see them, and to support their mental health and wellbeing. They also provide regular consultation and support to foster carers, social workers and other professionals involved when there is a concern, and they also run regular training courses for foster carers.
