Lambeth Mediation Service
Overview
The mediation service is an independent and confidential community-based charity that has been helping to resolve conflict in Lambeth for nearly 30 years.
They believe that mediation can be a real opportunity for challenging perceptions, questioning beliefs and changing attitudes, which can help resolve even entrenched disputes.
Their major projects are community mediation for tenants and residents of Lambeth, including running conflict surgeries and workplace mediation. They aim to develop further work on community dialogue, families, schools and training.
Examples of issues include disputes between neighbours to resolve things such as noise, rubbish, animals, property damage, boundaries and fences and harassment and abuse.
Mediation is provided by trained volunteers.
There is a school-based programme and mediation for workplace relationship problems.
