Overview

Tibetan Buddhist meditation and study centre welcomes everyone of any faith or none. Offers a programme of meditation, relaxation and study, retreats, bookshop, library and yoga classes.  Jamyang has a regular programme of prayers and ceremonies (pujas).

Jamyang is the Tibetan name for the Bodhisattva of Wisdom and is the name of this meditation and study centre.  Jamyang Buddhist Centre is affiliated with the Foundation for the Preservation of the Mahayana Tradition (FPMT), an international non-profit organisation set up in 1975 by Lama Thubten Yeshe (1935-84), a Tibetan Buddhist monk. The FPMT is based on the Gelugpa Buddhist tradition of Lama Tsong Khapa of Tibet and consists of over 147 centres, projects and publishing houses around the world.

Respite for Carers

RTK (Repaying the Kindness) offers respite breaks for adult carers in Lambeth and Southwark.  When carers come to RTK events our aim is to give you a real break. Carers are VIPs at RTK and apart from offering high-quality activities with professional workshop leaders, they offer delicious tea and cakes prepared by our famous in-house cooks at Jamyang Buddhist Centre. During the event, there is always plenty of time to chat with other carers and our friendly team of event volunteers. Sometimes carers just want to be quiet and sit in the garden which is fine. It is your time and you can spend it however you feel suits you best.
