Into the Light
Overview
Into The Light is a London-based not-for-profit project. It was founded in 1993 and established to provide a place of understanding and support to those who had experienced child sexual abuse.
Into The Light is a Full Member of The Survivors Trust and a Member of the Institute of Recovery from Childhood Trauma www.irct.org.uk.
Into The Light main aims are to:
- Provide counselling support, advice, information and resources to people of all genders who have been sexually abused as children.
- Offer support and counselling and training to those who are involved with and support people who have experienced sexual abuse e.g. partners, counsellors, and carers.
- Advance public awareness of child sexual abuse through seminars, training and writing for magazines and publications.
One to One Counselling
One-to-one counselling can be provided face-to-face, by skype, by phone or by e-mail. There are courses for survivors of abuse and seminars on particular issues. The website has articles about various issues related to abuse.
They offer one-to-one counselling to Survivors of all genders who have been sexually abused, in a safe and confidential environment by professional counsellors. The counsellors have specialist training and knowledge of the impact sexual abuse has on lives and relationships. They also offer counselling to those who are supporting men and women who have experienced Sexual Abuse – for example, partners or friends.
