Independent Living & Carers’ Partnership
Overview
The Independent Living and Carers’ Partnership (ILCP) is a group of local charities working together to help Lambeth residents: Age UK Lambeth, Carers’ Hub Lambeth, Disability Advice Service Lambeth and the Royal Association for Deaf People (Lambeth).
Their services are for anyone in Lambeth who is a disabled person, has long-term ill-health, lives with mental health issues, is an unpaid carer or is aged over 65.
Their support includes information and advice, advocacy, help and advice with direct payments, assistance in filing out forms and claiming a full entitlement of benefits, support for unpaid carers, befriending and community development. The ILCP is also one of the best places in Lambeth to volunteer, with a range of opportunities on offer, allowing people to gain valuable new experiences and give back to the community. All services are independent, confidential and free.
See the following directory entries for further information: Age UK Lambeth, Carers’ Hub Lambeth, Disability Advice Service Lambeth and Royal Association for Deaf People (Lambeth).
ILCP’s gateway service is Safe and Independent Living (SAIL). This is designed to provide person-centred, referrals and support to enable individuals to continue maintaining independence, improve their well-being and stay safe. This is powered by Age UK Lambeth.
Their specialist services include advice and guidance for deaf people (powered by the Royal Association for Deaf People); advocacy, to support people to say what they want, secure their rights, pursue their interests and obtain services they need (powered by Disability Advice Service Lambeth); befriending service, for older people who may feel socially isolated and lonely (powered by Age UK Lambeth); and carers’ service, to help anyone who provides unpaid care and support, either living in or caring for someone in Lambeth (powered by Carers’ Hub Lambeth).
