Home-Start Southwark
Overview
Provides support and friendship for families with a child under the age of five, particularly when they are going through difficult times, or feeling isolated without friends and family nearby, or coping with illness or disability. Difficulties may include: Loneliness, Ill health, Isolation, Relationship difficulties, Post-natal illness, Poverty, Multiple births, Disabilities, Bereavement, Mental health problems, or Children with special needs. Self -referral or you can ask a GP or health Visitor to refer you.
Most parents would agree that being a parent, wherever you live, whatever your circumstances, isn’t always easy. Combine that with additional pressures such as illness or financial worries and without the support of family and friends the pressures can seem overwhelming.
They help any parent living in the London Borough of Southwark, who has at least one child under five and is finding things tough, for any reason. The service is free and confidential.
