Home-Start Lambeth
Overview
Home-Start Lambeth offers support, friendship and practical help to families with pre-school-age children across Lambeth. They train volunteers who are usually parents themselves and match them with a local family. They visit weekly and offer support tailored to meet the needs of the family.
Home-Start believes that children need a happy and secure childhood and that parents play a key role in giving their children a good start in life and helping them to achieve their full potential. They support parents in this key role.
To become a volunteer please fill out the forms on their website.
How Home-Start can help:
If you live in Lambeth and have children under 5, they may be able to help. This could be by matching a volunteer with you, who would visit you on a weekly basis and provide emotional support and practical help. Home-Start volunteers are parents themselves, so they understand what you are going through. Or you may want to attend one of the weekly family groups.
They currently have a project running within the scheme, providing support to families with experience of domestic violence.
The service is free and confidential. Phone for more information.
