First Step Trust (FST) Lambeth

Overview

First Step Trust (FST) is an innovative charity which runs social enterprises to provide work and training opportunities for people excluded from work because of mental health issues or other disadvantages, including drug and alcohol recovery problems and a history of offending.

They provide a commercial environment which people can join, on a voluntary basis, to gain work experience, as well as confidence, skills and qualifications. They support people to fulfil their potential, contribute to their local community, and where possible, make the transition to paid employment.

Work placements:

FST provides work placements in the following areas: catering, motor mechanics, gardening, admin, reception, customer service and finance.

Short courses & training:

Driving Ambition, Health & Safety Level 2, 12 Modules of Motor Mechanics, 10 Steps into Employment and National Hospitality Academy Courses.

Their courses are open to Greenwich & Lambeth residents who have mental health problems or are from disadvantaged backgrounds aged over 18. For course dates & more information contact Harriet Tawari – at [email protected]
