Early Intervention Service (Southwark)
Overview
The Early Intervention Team supports people, aged 14-35 when they first begin to develop the symptoms of mental illness and before they reach ‘crisis point’. They provide assistance to people who live in the London Borough of Southwark.
Their team includes health and social care professionals. They work with people to help manage their mental illness, encourage independent living and maintain their health. They aim to offer recovery for the long term.
They aim to see most people in their own homes, in the community, or at their local community mental health team (CMHT) base.
They provide between two and three-year treatment programmes, coordinated by a designated support worker.
