Disability Law Service

Overview

The mission of the Disability Law Service (DLS) is to provide free legal advice to people with disabilities and their carers to ensure that they have access to their rights and justice.  They advise on community care, employment, housing and welfare benefits.

They aim to respond to enquiries within 3-5 working days. Please note that they can only advise on discrimination in employment cases.

 

DLS provides free advice via information, factsheets, training courses and telephone and written advice in areas relevant to people with disabilities and their carers.

Their advice on housing covers – homelessness, possession, unlawful eviction, defending ASBOs & landlord harassment.

They are able to provide telephone advice to those calling 020 7791 9800 in areas of welfare benefits, housing, community care and employment and discrimination law.

DLS provides online information and factsheets on the following areas of law: Community CareDisability DiscriminationEmploymentWelfare Benefits, Trusts, Blue badges, and others.
DLS can provide full legal representation, including attending court and tribunal hearings in employment and community care matters.
