Deptford Hearing Voices Service

Overview

The Deptford Hearing Voices Service primarily is for people who hear voices, their carers and for voluntary and professional workers. The Hearing Voices Website is an independent website which has no formal relationship to any NHS Trusts, local government or other organisations.
The Deptford Hearing Voices Service provides a service that enables the ‘voice hearer’ to speak with other ‘voice hearers’ or with the Project Worker. This form of contact can help people feel less alone and can also provide useful information about how to manage or cope with the ‘voices’.
The service can also be used by people who care for ‘voice hearers’.  It is currently staffed by one person who provides the following services:  (1) one to one support;  (2) two facilitated support groups for ‘voice hearers’;  (3) outreach support work to ‘voice hearers’ in various community centres and drop-ins;  (4) education and information for groups of carers or workers as arranged.
