Community Southwark

Overview

Community Southwark (formerly known as Community Action Southwark, CAS) is the umbrella organisation for the voluntary and community sector. Volunteers and social action in Southwark.
CS equips voluntary organisations and community groups in Southwark with the tools and information they need to help them make a difference in the community they work in.  It provides training and support on a wide range of topics to empower the voluntary and community sectors to become more resilient.  CS also represents the voluntary and community sector to local government and other public sector agencies.

This applies to people who want to make a change in their local area, to people who want to volunteer, or to voluntary and community groups that need a helping hand.  There are plenty of ways CS can help you, including support and advice, networking, volunteering, community involvement and Healthwatch Southwark.

Volunteering involves spending time, unpaid, doing something that benefits others. Volunteering can help you gain new skills and experiences, meet new people and make a difference to your local community.

Do you know the benefits of volunteering?  On the website, they provide you with all the info to help you get started with your volunteering journey.

You can book a face-to-face, half an hour appointment with one of the Volunteer Advisors to find a volunteer opportunity just for you.  During these appointments, they support individuals to search for volunteer roles that match their interests, motivations and time commitments. If required, individuals can book a second appointment where they can support them to apply for voluntary roles.

You can make a volunteer appointment on Tues from 10 am to 4 pm & Wed from 11 am to 5 pm.
