Overview

Church Homeless Trust supports 14 London hostels that take care of approximately 450 homeless people at any given time. They meet the needs not covered by statutory grants such as residents’ welfare, therapeutic activities, training facilities and resettlement support.

A StreetSmart grant will be used to fund welfare and resettlement costs for the 35 homeless men and women at Acre Lane hostel in Brixton.

Their grants of up to £200 are awarded to individual homeless people to help them take the next step in their journey towards a home of their own.

That could mean helping them from rough sleeping and into a hostel or helping them from temporary accommodation and into their first private tenancy with a front door of their very own.
