Sanctuary Supported Living
Overview
Sanctuary Housing Association understand that poor mental health can lead to homelessness and people with mental health problems can sometimes find it difficult to secure and maintain good quality accommodation. Through day-to-day support their clients are able to stabilise their lives and begin the journey towards recovery. For some this may mean feeling content and well, while others may want to live the best life they can while dealing with the every-day symptoms of their condition. They help people by encouraging them to think about their strengths and abilities, and the changes they can make in their lives to take control, reach their goals and achieve improved mental wellbeing. They help people to work towards achieving their personal goals at their own pace. As clients’ needs change, the level of support they receive can be adapted to match.
Sanctuary Housing work with local authorities (including Lambeth Council) and other agencies to provide support to a variety of people including people with mental health needs.
You do not need to be a resident of accommodation provided by Sanctuary Housing to access this Supported Living service. For example in Lambeth you can be referred to this service by the Pathways to Support service which is within the Lambeth Council’s Housing Department. Sanctuary has three levels of support service, high, medium and low, depending on your support needs.
