Carers Hub Lambeth
Overview
Carers Hub Lambeth offers advice, information, emotional support, signposting, peer support groups and events for carers. They have a specialist team for adult carers, older carers and young carers (anyone with a caring role who is under 18) and a specialist worker for carers of someone with a mental illness.
A list of the core services that are available to carers:
- Adults Carers Peer Support Groups
The Adults Carers Peer to Peer Support Group Project aim to set up and facilitate (for up to 12 months per group), small peer to peer support groups for adults carers across Lambeth and South West London, to provide emotional support, friendship, information and signposting.
- Young Adult Carers
A young adult carer is someone aged 16-21 who cares, unpaid, for a friend or family member who has an illness, disability, mental health problem or addiction. We provide 1-2-1 support, tailored around your needs – whether educational, emotional or something else, we organise a mixture of fun activities throughout the year and we run a monthly young adult carers group
- Lambeth Carers Card
Working in partnership, Carers’ Hub Lambeth and My Social are delivering the Lambeth Carers Card scheme. The Lambeth Carers Card connects unpaid carers to helpful information and resources.
- Carers collaborative Network
A network for local organisations, professionals and volunteers who work with unpaid carers in Lambeth.
The aim is to support you in your caring role by helping with issues like Housing, Social Services, Council Services, Welfare Benefits, Maximising your Income, Charitable Grants, Leisure activities, Transport, Local Support Groups, NHS services, Respite and Carers Assessments. In addition to the range of services the Carer’s Hub provides, the Hub can let you know about other organisations and make referrals for you, if needed.
Support can be offered face-to-face or by telephone depending on what best meets your current circumstances.
