Cardboard Citizens

Overview

Cardboard Citizens has been making life-changing theatre with and for homeless people for over 25 years. They empower people with lived experiences of homelessness and strive to change society’s perceptions of homeless people. Through theatre, they support participants to develop confidence, skills, qualifications and employment.

Their aim is to tell stories that need to be told, which can effect change locally, nationally, on the stage, in the street, in hostels, centres and prisons. Theatre, whether experienced as an audience or participant, can be a space for better understanding ourselves, who we could be and the world we live in.

Becoming a member gives people access to Information, Advice and Guidance services, training in Forum Theatre, creativity and self-expression training and social meet-ups. Being a Member is free and open to anyone with lived experience of homelessness or at risk of homelessness.

They offer free theatre workshops, 16-25 workshops, courses and drop-in sessions. See here for details: https://cardboardcitizens.org.uk/whats-on/
