Brixton Advice Centre

Overview

The Advice Centre promotes access to justice by providing good quality legal advice and representation to people who would otherwise be unable to afford legal services
They specialise in advice on Housing / HomelessnessWelfare Benefits and Debt.

They also offer information and advice on Work, family, consumer, older people, domestic violence, younger people, immigration, discrimination and health care.

 

Need help now? Use One Lambeth Advice to find online information and find out about advice and support services in the area.  Brixton Advice Centre accepts referrals from One Lambeth Advice.

You can visit their reception Monday to Thursday 10 am to 3 pm, no appointment needed.

They provide advice at outreach venues around Lambeth, including at Brixton Foodbank (Tuesdays and Saturdays, 10am to 1pm) and at local schools.

They provide a free legal advice clinic every other Thursday evening (click here to check current dates).  Advice is given on a first come first served basis and the clinic is open between 6.30 and 7.30pm. They also provide an online legal advice clinic qualifying users can fill in a form (available on their website) setting out their legal question and one of our volunteer lawyers will respond

They are part of the Lambeth Advice Network, which receives funding from Lambeth Council.  They are also part of Capitalise – a London-wide consortium providing free debt advice. They hold the Law Society’s Lexcel Excellence in Practice Management Standard.
