Brixton Advice Centre


Brixton Advice Centre promotes access to justice by providing good quality legal advice and representation to people who would otherwise be unable to afford legal services. Specialise in advice on Housing / Homelessness, Welfare Benefits and Debt.

Need help now? Use One Lambeth Advice to find online information, speak to advisers by web chat, email or telephone and to find out about advice and support services in the area. Brixton Advice Centre accepts referrals from One Lambeth Advice.

They provide advice at outreach venues around Lambeth, including at Brixton Foodbank (Tuesdays and Saturdays, 10am to 1pm) and at local schools. They also take part in the Housing Court Duty Possession Scheme at Lambeth County Court.

There is a free legal advice clinic every other Thursday evening (click here to check current dates). Advice is given on a first come first served basis and the clinic is open between 5.30 and 6.30pm.

Brixton Advice Centre is part of the Lambeth Advice Network, which receives funding from Lambeth Council. The Centre is also a part of Capitalise – a London-wide consortium providing free debt advice and have an approved debt intermediary to assist people make Debt Relief Order applications. The Centre holds the Legal Aid Agency’s Specialist Quality Mark quality assurance accreditation in Housing and Community Care Law.

Disabled Access:

Brixton Tube Station via the Victoria Line. 345, 196, 37, 35, 2, P4, P5 into Brixton. 322 runs along Railton Road. 37, 196 run along Dulwich Road. Brixton Rail Station or Herne Hill Rail Station. There are no parking facilities available at the Centre for visitors. Visitors could use nearby street parking however please note that this is all metered and very expensive
