Alternatives to Violence Project

Overview

The Alternatives to Violence Project (AVP) is an international network of trained volunteers, which delivers workshops for people who want to learn how to manage anger and handle conflict without using or being the victim of, violence in any of its many forms. They help people address anger and aggression, whether they are perpetrators or victims.

They are a registered national charity and run friendly, low-cost workshops (courses) which really make a difference to people’s lives. Whether you face conflict at home, in work, or on the streets, every day or once in a while, or simply want to learn how to manage your behaviour better, AVP can help.

In London, the workshops run for two days: Saturdays 10am – 6pm and Sundays 10am – 5pm. There are usually 8-12 participants (minimum 18 years of age), and two or three AVP facilitators. At the end of the workshop, all participants are awarded a certificate of achievement.
