Anorexia & Bulimia Care
Overview
ABC is a national UK eating disorders organisation with over 30 years of experience. They say they are passionate about people and recovery. They provide on-going care, emotional support and practical guidance for anyone affected by eating disorders, those struggling personally and also parents, families and friends. ABC works tirelessly to increase awareness and understanding of eating disorders through talks, training and campaigns for change.
They provide personal care and support for anyone affected by anorexia, bulimia, binge eating and all types of eating distress. There are support groups based in London.
They are the only charity offering adults (18 years +) with one to one on-going recovery support through our befriending service. This service links people who are struggling with an eating disorder with someone who has recovered. A befriender’s knowledge and experience of recovery provides the person with hope, encouragement and guidance. The team of regional befrienders offers support to anyone who is working on recovery from an eating disorder. People who ask for a befriender are usually linked with someone who has a similar experience to their own. The befriending relationship operates by telephone for 6 months.
