Age UK Lambeth


Age UK Lambeth offers a variety of services for older people living in Lambeth including :

  • handyperson service
  • lesbian and gay group
  • a befriending service

They also organise an array of events and acitivites as well as providing free and confidential information and advice on issues regarding pension, benefits, housing and health.  Age UK also serves disabled adults and offer support to small voluntary groups and projects who work with older people

Please note: Age UK Lambeth runs a drop-in service at three locations, on a first come, first serve basis.  It is advisable to initially ring them, as opening times may change in the future.

The Vida Walsh Activity Centre provides activities for people aged 55 plus, living in Lambeth: yoga, computer club, 2 course meals, arts and crafts, painting club, walking group, card making, zumba, sing along, chair exercises. Opening times:
Office hours-Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm except bank holidays.

Free Service Handyperson - additional fee of £5-£40 depending on income

Disabled Access:
Wheelchair access and adapted toilets. Access to loop system and signers.

For the Lambeth Accord building, get tube to Brixton, or 159,133,333,3,59 bus to Brixton Road , near Tesco Express. For Vida Walsh Centre take tube to Brixton, walk to Ritzy Cinema and ask for saltoun road. For Woodlands Centre, take bus 159, 133, 59, 333 to Leigham Court Road.
