RNID (Formerly Action on Hearing Loss)

Royal National Institute for Deaf People (RNID) support people across the UK to manage their deafness, tinnitus and hearing loss. They provide useful information and community-based care and support services, develop technology and treatments, and campaign for equality.

Looking for products? They offer a range of products including phonesalarms and alerts and listening devices designed to help people with hearing loss, deafness or tinnitus. 

They also support businesses and employers, education professionals and health professionals to become more accessible to the 11 million people in the UK who are deaf or have hearing loss. While also providing funding for researches.

Are you looking for reliable information on all aspects of deafness, hearing loss and tinnitus?  You can access all of their free publications and research reports here, plus their policy statements, consultation responses and fundraising and campaigns packs.  They also tell you about the Action on Hearing Loss Library, which has the largest collection of specialist material for audiology, deaf studies, and ear, nose and throat medicine in Europe.

And if you have a query but don’t know where to start, you can contact them through the  Information Line that offers free confidential and impartial information on a whole range of subjects relating to deafness, hearing loss. For tinnitus, the helpline can be found here.
